I have had to use my seat belt for the past year the wrong way, by putting the top of it behind me (and basically only having the belt part across my waist.)
The top part had been so tight it was choking me when I drove and had been really uncomfortable. It was the worst when I had really bad inflammation, and wearing it behind my back had been my only work around and I'd avoided buying a seat belt extender all this time thinking I'd lose the weight.
This past Thursday (almost 2 weeks post op- gastric sleeve) i had to move my car and I was able to wear my seat belt without needing to put it behind me, which felt crazy. It doesn't hurt to wear it, I can breathe, and my body isn't running into the steering wheel as much either.
It felt good. I'm trying to find positive non scale victories to enjoy, and this was my first I wanted to share. Yay!!
What are some of yours from your first couple lbs lost?
