I feel like I’m going through a struggle era. Struggling with my emotions and still coping with food. Not in an extreme way, but coping with it nonetheless. Particularly, it’s work that’s giving me anxiety. We’re behind af as a unit, and it feels like we’ll never really catch up. I’m exhausted. I’ve been feeling very depressed. I recognize just how much I run to nibble on things to deal with anxiety. I never realized before surgery how much I did that.
And the thing is, I bought a painting kit, legos and a puzzle to do something with my hands when I feel overwhelmed, but I haven’t been touching them. The physical comfort food brings doesn’t compare to simply drawing my focus away with activities. And I KNOW that’s not acceptable or an excuse. I just haven’t had to deal with this until now and am struggling a bit. Any advice?
