I’m not here to make generalizations about how weight affects how old people look - I just know for me personally, too much fat on my face made me look MUCH OLDER. I have a naturally round and full face with hooded eye lids so fat really does a number on me. My lids were heavy, my cheeks protruded giving me old lady cheeks and my jaw/chin/neck area lacked definition, furthering my old lady look. Buying alcohol/smoking products usually goes like this for me:
1) Products sold to me without hesitation 2) The cashier actually examines my face first but doesn’t ask for ID, which I sometimes considered a win.
Actually asking for my ID to verify my age hasn’t happened since my late 20s. I’m back down to the weight I was at 28/29. I was profoundly depressed all weekend and having the cashier ask for my ID while purchasing vape improved my mood so much lol he gave a surprised expression when he looked at my ID too as I’m likely older than him.
Anyway, with the weight I’ve lost, my eyelids are flatter and more open, I have jaw definition again and no more double chin, and the roundness/fullness of my face and cheeks now contribute youthfulness to my look! Crazy how a round face can make you look young or old lol VERY unforgiving face shape if you don’t take care of yourself.
My best friend even randomly text me this morning saying that my face “shape” changed (sent her a pic of me over the weekend). Ik she’s referring to my chin - a couple weeks ago for her bday, my double chin was so prominent despite my body being smaller. Face finally caught up!
