What was mechanic to bring back dead characters in Wizardry NES games from Permadeath ?
Post Body

There is an anthology based TV show called Room 104 on HBO and one the writers said the latest episode was loosely based on Wizardry game on NES, like you can bring back characters from dead/permadead state if you have like enough battery in NES cartridge and do some of the stuff like bring 1000 coins and bones of dead character and I think beat Hydra and go through some Liar or something like that.

Like imagine you played Wizardy in NES when you were young and shoved it in garage, if you still had cartridge with battery, could you bring back your characters you made when you were younger.

thoughtful analysis by @caemeronCC as usual! But I swear, the bones thing is real! That’s how Wizardy for NES works. As long as the battery backup doesn’t fail, that is...
