Changing gear Then game forces me to force close.

Anyone know how to correct this or has ththis issue? Every time I change a person's gear the " x" in the bottom left corner does not allow me to exit the change gear screscreen and I'm forced to close the game down and start again. Making me want to stop playing but it's a great game over all ..
