A decent length of time ago I came to this community requesting assistance with a protege who had been hit by a childhood trauma spell. This protege, Alteva, eventually recovered (with significant assistance from her vampiress partner Ramona) enough to tell her story, which she had very much kept hidden until now. So hidden in fact that even Ramona only got bits and pieces before this point. She told this story to me and Ramona first and the story has spread quickly around our stronghold, Alteva has encouraged me to further spread this story to this fine community because she feels it is a story which the right people must know of for reasons which shall become clear.

Alteva was my first protege whom helped me build up the stronghold our conclave lives in today. From the beginning I knew little about her, she was simply an elf adept in dark magic that took eagerly to my egalitarian ideals. I truly had no idea of the dark reality of her early life,

Alteva was born in a type of elven community known as a "high community." From the outside this type of community is often seen as nothing more than a group of stuffy, elitist elves, the type that allows the negative stereotypes many holds towards said race to persist. A large portion of them are simply that, however beneath the surface many of them are oppressive hellscapes. Alteva was born into the latter type, a child of her mother's unknown affair with a dark elf. This dark secret was never discovered, it lay at Alteva's core, unbeknownst even to her, for the entirety of her early life. It was never overtly noticeable, but it did cause her to give off a subtle aura of darkness and otherness that the other members of her community very much noticed. If this had been the only issue present Alteva wouldn't have had the worst life all things considered. She would've simply been considered little more than a strange woman, marginalized and isolated by society, a fate much better than the one she ultimately received.

Unfortunately for her however, her heritage was not the only intrinsic element of her identity which her so called "high community" would have objected to. For as even slightly attentive readers will have inferred, Alteva's heart is drawn to the female sex. The community she was raised in was virulently contemptuous of homosexual persons, and Alteva knew this. She hid her true self very well for a long time, but ultimately, no one is perfect. Alteva fell for another woman, a woman who Alteva believed to be like her, a woman she saw as a bright ray of hope piercing the oppressive darkness she lived within, a woman who was working for the ruling aristocracy and betrayed Alteva the moment she could.

Her community reacted with immediate contemptuous fury. After a very short and largely ceremonial trial Alteva was convicted and given her punishment. Alteva was tied to a post and had hay piled at her feet. She was called a degenerate and an apostate and told she was to burn for her "crimes." It was only thanks to the sudden blossoming of her dark magic, a common thing which happens in such life-threatening situations, that she was able to escape death by fire, burning her community to the ground in the process. Alteva was deeply traumatized by this event, the fear and despair she felt that day left scars she has only now begun to let heal, but there is something else about her story she wishes me to relate.

The type of community which so harmed Alteva is still around. While we are obviously not asking that you obsessively search through every single high community for signs of oppression, we are asking that you act on any signs you do see. These types of communities have harmed and continue to harm countless people, and if you find yourself in the position to, please take action against any you find. Keep your eyes open my friends.

Oh and one more thing by the way, the architect of the community which so harmed Alteva, Ganymede Alva, managed to escape the destruction of his community unharmed. If you happen to find this disgusting individual, please fix this issue.
