Books Vs Games. Which one wins?

I've played the games before reading the books, like most I imagine. I fell in love with the games immediately and still consider Wild Hunt the best game I've ever played. However, upon reading the books, I can't help but be blown away by the intricate, interweaving plot lines and incredible diction, twists and character development. So, of those that experienced both; which struck you the most?
