Witcher 2 Players, what the f**k is happening here??

My second play-thru. This is during the mission where you meet Letho at the elven ruins. The only thing I did different during this play-thru is lean towards getting my memories back in the conversation with Roche after that bathhouse scene with Triss. I chose not to go with Iorveth when traveling to the ruins and when I showed up him and roche were dueling and this cutscene triggered. Was something skipped story-wise? I never got to choose whether I go with Roche or Iorveth.
