How do you use the Skellige deck?

So context - I just finished the Skellige Gwent Tournament in Toussaint and while I got it on my first try, I know it was due to pure luck. Barely survived due to the ai making mistakes during pivotal moments instead of any personal skill.
I thought the Monster deck was a bit finicky due to it's muster cards but Skellige somehow feels worse.
Any strategies? I already have 18 of the 19 cards to be collected.
