Cracked Pendulum on first day trying to attune to it

I just got my first pendulum last week. I tried using it out right and it wasn't responding well. Kept quivering. I decided to keep it close to me to attune with it. I've had it safe inside my bra all day. Nothing has hit it or come in contact with it. It's already cracked on the inside. It's made of smoky Obsidian. Any ideas on what this means?
