Using Starlink as Internet Backhaul
Post Body

Hey all, first time post here!

I'm still preparing to start my WISP, but am getting to the final stages. I already have a pretty good idea of what equipment I will be using and how everything will work. I am, however, still looking into internet backhauls. I live in an area where there's only like 2-3 providers, and all are shitty local cable companies. I have come down to two different backhaul providers which I could use either (1) ATT Dedicated Fiber (ATT Business Internet isn't in my area) or (2) Starlink.

My question: Has anyone worked with Starlink or have any comments/ideas/suggestions on using Starlink? Or would it be better to have ATT Dedicated Fiber?

I would really prefer to get Starlink just because it would be so much cheaper than paying a few grand a month for an ATT Dedicated Fiber line, and I think it would be significantly easier for a "beginner" like me. I have, however, heard of mixed things about Starlink, like the connection goes out sometimes, ping can be high at certain points, etc.

Interested to hear everyone's thoughts on this!
