My recovery so far : Day by day
Post Body

Hey all! Figured while I am feeling up to it I would give a little day by day of my recovery!

Day 1: I had 4 impacted wisdom teeth taken out. Was completely knocked out during surgery. Don’t remember I thing at all! I was always worried because I have a full mouth of braces but everything when so well. I went home, started my meds, napped, changed out gauze for 3 hours and ate nothing but apple sauce and mashed potatoes that day. Minimal pain since the meds and sedation were still working.

Day 2-3: These days were actually not too bad. I was able to eat more. Pancakes , eggs, cream of wheat, Mashed potatoes, broccoli and tilapia kinda all chopped up. Meds were helping me a lot. I was able to work on Day 2 (a Friday)

Day 4: This day was not fun. I had started to notice some bruising on my jaw and cheeks. I felt that I was relying on meds heavily this day. Counting down the hours and minutes until I could take more. Lots of ice cream this day. Tried to do warm compresses and salt water rinses. This night was also the worst imo. Couldn’t sleep until the meds kicked in.

Day 5: I felt ok enough to work this day but meds were still needed. Still avoiding crunchy foods and straws. Still had a difficult time at night but had to push through. Started using the syringe to irrigate.

Day6-7: Over these two days I was struggling with eating and my jaw was so sore. Warm compress was the only thing that kinda helped. I had to sit up constantly for the blood flow to be right.

Day 8-9: Breakthrough! I went through the night before and that morning without meds! I began my process of slowing taking myself off the ibuprofen.

Day 10: Today I feel pretty great compared to what I went through. I’ve started to eat more stuff that was in my typical diet before the extraction.

Hoping that everyone that is going through recovery gets through the painful stages soon!
