Uhhh when you have a reproductive population that surpasses 1million birds, they are no longer rare. When was the last time you went outside in the country? I literally see fields with 200 sandhill cranes in them during my morning commute during the fall.
You mean you are stupidâŚ.. letâs see, birds eat crops, less crops to sell, food cost more. Did I dumb it down for you enough?
It doesnât take many to cause problems. Cranes donât just eat the seed off of the plants in the fall. In the spring time once crops start to sprout, theyâll eat the whole plant as itâs just emerging. And they arenât âskinnyâ if you see one up close. They are large birds, which eat a ton. Just a few can seriously ruin a field.

Have you ever been waterfowl hunting? Have you ever met a waterfowl hunter? Majority of us, are well studied on identifying ducks in flight in piss poor conditions. If I can point out a blue wing teal from a wood duck at the crack of dawn, I can easily tell the difference between big ass birds that fly slow. They are pretty obvious different birds.
