Post Body

I want to take some friends up this weekend to learn how to shoot a handgun. I have some questions, though, having never gone to a public range like this.

  1. Will it be crowded, and if so, what is the procedure like to get a bay to shoot? Does a line form?
  2. It seems like we have to place our own targets down range. How do you communicate to other shooters that you're going to go down range.
  3. How do you affix your targets to the boards?
  4. Is there etiquette surrounding how long you can be at a bay?

Thanks in advance!

Your best bet this weekend since it is opening of gun deer season, would to find an indoor range. Depending on where you are coming from, I know Midwest shooter supply in Lomira has one. Not sure if they’ll be open this weekend considering the “holiday”. I’d honestly just wait two weeks till the hunt is over.
