One thing that I thought I liked about Fate: The Winx Saga is that they tried to base the powers in nature and elements, therefore having fire, air, water, earth, light and... um... mind??? Okay... Even though I don't think they did a good job at anything portraying those powers, I still appreciated that they tried to base its system in actual natural elements.
And then recently I realised that the Winx Club's powers are directly related to the natural elements, but that they were reworked for a more fantasy-related feel. We got:
- FIRE for Bloom (the most faithful and realistic depiction of an elemental power)
- WATER for Aisha (with the change from water to fluids and morfix)
- EARTH for Flora (with more of a focus on plants)
- LIGHT for Stella (leaning more towards solar powers and slight lunar aspects)
- AIR for Musa (sounds that we hear mostly travels through air, and a lot of Musa's offenssive spells are sound/shockwaves created through oscillation of particles in the air around her opponents)
- ELECTRICITY for Tecna (it may seem like a big stretch, but any and almost all technology needs power, usually generated by electrical currents, so Tecna manipulated the electricity in her spells and just in general. A fair amount of her attacks are also animated to look like electricity)
Note that the three original villains' powers in Trix are also corruptions and/or opposites to the elements.
