giving foiling another try - Wing ripped wrist leash off.
Post Body

Hello, I'm in PEI Canada for another extended vacation. I bought a windfoiling kit ( Slingshot 76 and 99 foils, SailWorks 5.2 , and 143L Shred Sled) 2 years ago . Challenging . Last year, I bought a Lift efoil . Even more $, but wish I had seen first. Lots easier and I can go out everyday . Wind not needed.

I bought a Wing 18 months ago and had only used with skis in winter and a windsurfer so far .

I thought it would be a great idea to use the Wing with efoil - no power , then efoil upwind to save walking . Only the efoil board doesn't have enough volume for a beginner to wing with ....

Recently , I've had Couple of sessions with wing on Shred Sled 143L

I had the wrist leash on . With a gust the wing got ripped off when I was climbing on board...

It was heading downwind

I got the board to shallow water and ran down the beach - caught the wing . Lucky

That could be dangerous . And coulda been an expensive day.

A small repairable tear .

There's always something

I wish I had bought a larger sail, because I have lots of windsurf/shortboard experience .

for a windsurf set up on a wing -forum recommendation was 1.5 metre less than for short board.

So I bought a 5.2 Sailworks.

to buy a 5.8 , I would need a longer mast too.
