Old Vines and their roots
Post Body

Hello all, Hope you are doing well.

I am here to ask you for a business advice regarding irrigation and outstanding cold temperatures. Relevant for those who have old Vines. Would like to have your opinion on that.

First case: in the case of long term drought roots tend to focus their growth deep into the earth to find the moisture and relevant chemicals. Would it be a good solution for you at the vineyard to have a deep under surface irrigation (more than 1m deep) to supply your Vines with water and relevant chemicals?

Second case: the temperatures are currently not reliable and you can have frost in the middle of April or Mai ( talking about Europe). Would it be a good solution for you to have an option of stable temperatures within the death of 50 to 250 cm beneath the earth for a time needed? Automatic solution that will heat the surface and will not damage the roots?

All those cases gonna be cost efficient as possible. Currently I am working on the idea of the business and need some first impressions.

Thanks a lot an have a great day.
