Window Replacement

Post Body

We are looking to get 2 original windows replaced in our 50 year house. They are 90x50 and 40x40 respectively. Brookstone quoted 11.5K for these two. And the rep said 20K for a bay window. Do these prices fall in the ballpark of what to expect? Any guidance and recommendations would be appreciated.

General rule of thumb is you take the cost of the window and double it to get the cost of Window Installation (at least that was how much it cost pre Covid).

There’s lots of factors that affect the cost of the window, double vs triple glazed, colour options, privacy glass, brick moulding, finishing after installation, custom interior casing installation.

For reference I recently replaced a casement style window that was 36 x 48 and was quoted $1800 for just the cost of the window (did installation myself).

Shop around and see where the best price is in terms of what you’re looking for and style. I’d recommend checking with Meloche Windows, but there are also smaller guys that work directly with manufacturers and get the windows at cost like Element Windows
