Although someone posted this same subject, in this group, it was over two years ago, and with no results.
So... here's my post on the subject... along with a solution.
First of all, as I understand it, the legacy HP Envy Photo 7800 series (7855, etc.) Windows XP drivers only worked with the 32-bit version of Windows XP.
And while I have no problem with Hewlett Packard discontinuing active support for Windows XP, I feel that it's a crime for Hewlett Packard to remove their Windows XP driver downloads from their website... leaving their customers to have to scramble to find downloads from 3rd party sources.
And even the online HP Support Community comes up with a blank, when it comes to installing the HP ENVY Photo 7855 All-in-One via Windows XP 32-bit, as all the Windows XP driver download links provided there lead to webpages that no longer exist.
But here are proven vintage drivers and a utility that will work with a HP Envy Photo 7800 Series - Windows XP 32-bit setup. All files can be safely downloaded from:
HP Print and Scan Doctor v1.0.0.0: HPPSdr.exe (6.37 MB)
EN7800_Basicx86_44.3.2218.exe (70.15 MB)... but only works via USB cable.
EN7800_Full_WebPack_44.1.2550.exe (197.816 MB)... and works via both USB cable and WiFi, and includes the HP Printer Assistant app, as well as HP Print and Scan Doctor v4.5.
Enjoy!
