While the Build Conference isn't a "Windows Phone" announcement, some of the announcements bode really well for the future of Windows Phone, in my opinion.
For example, opening up the Bing API so apps can access Bing's entire knowledge base looks really amazing.
They are also implementing the best universal search I've ever seen into Windows 8.1, and hopefully we can see that trickle down.
IE 11 will support tab syncing across devices, which may be enough to get me to use IE 11 on my home machine.
The new Windows 8 on-screen keyboard supports gestures.
And the new Bing Maps looks absolutely amazing, with 3D imagining- which can be accessed by developers in the new APIs.
All in all- this announcement probably excited me more than the last Windows Phone announcement- I really can't wait til all of this gets implemented on our devices.
