Google Hangouts breaking Google Talk push notifications?

Google Hangouts seems to be some weird combination of "new service" and "re-branded Google Talk." I have IM Pro, which up until Google Hangouts rolled out worked perfectly for Google Talk, but now push notifications have stopped working.
Is this just on my phone, or are other people having this problem?
