Windows Account Problem

So I got my new laptop last night and I tried setting up a windows account and ran into this problem. When I go to create a new account, it says the email I'm trying to use is already associated with a windows account. So, seeing this I go to recover the password on the account, but when I go to do that, I get an error saying incorrect windows account ID. I sent an email to microsoft tech support last night. Does anyone have any suggestion or better contact information for someone who can fix this for me?

Edit: I mean Microsoft Account.
