Post Body

So I recently did a new install of windows 7 home premium. First of I know the os is dead but Its what i have to work with at the moment to get my pc working with a working key. So I did a clean install then had to find drivers everywhere, first used ones from acers website that were a pain to install and didnt seem to work right so i used device driver solutions software that was installing crapware with it but it got my wireless and ethernet installed and running. After fighting with that mess and uninstalling it I found the much better software Snappy Driver Installer. That got me all my devices on my laptop running again. I can get online and do basic web and some programs but I'm having alot of trouble doing windows update I get error code 8024001F. I've downloaded numerous offline update packeges manually and when I try to install them after they initialize I get an error stating "this update is not applicable to your computer". All the forums I find say to download and update various Kxxxxx update patches. I've tried a bunch of those and get the same error. I've ran avg for viruses and Esets online scanner both removed some things but still this problem. I've ran syschk 3 times with no problems I've done every repair and troubleshoot windows os has to offer no results. One of the things I did find is that some of the fixes Microsoft website suggests is changing things in my registry and I've noticed I cant edit a lot of things because il get "access Denied" even running %sysroot% commands from cmd as administrator. What is stopping me? I'm running windows 7 Home Premium on acer aspire I can give more specific error codes if necessary. Please help!
