Hello!
From the guy that brought you the Pirate Shockspitter Hunter and the Naga-Dragon Hunter, I present my best creation yet: Dragon Menagerie Hunter! The decklist is at the bottom.
I am presenting this deck as a showcase and asking for suggestions for improving it. Thanks!
Gameplay
- The early game consists of a small pirate package and some amalgams that can act as pirates.
- The midgame consists looking for your stormhammers and playing larger and larger dragons that you either draw or discover from amalgam of the deep and primordial explorer.
- The late game consists of Hero Powering to chip away at the opponent until you can use shockspitters powered up by your infinite stormhammer and copied by your selective breeders to finish the job.
Details
Note that there are a few other types present in the decklist. We also have k9-0-tron to pull up peasants and pirates hidden at the bottom of the deck and for ensuring stormhammers aren't hiding there either. Patches is a Demon too. However, we will not be relying on these minions for their type synergies. It does however allow an amalgam of the deep to be less stranded in hand if these were typeless minions instead.
Selective breeder only has 3 hits--shockspitter and the two different amalgams. This makes it very consistent for getting you the card that you need, whether it be a pirate to pull patches, a dragon for dragon synergies in the midgame or shockspitters for the late game burst.
Concerns
Drawing your Stormhammers is very important. That's the reason I have two trackings, k9-0-tron, and peasants in the deck. However, since I have 6 beasts in the deck, I was considering swapping them out with Harpoon Guns. They can also search for your stormhammers, but might be awkward if I draw them after my stormhammers, clogging my hand when there's already not much draw in this deck.
Nightmare Amalgam is a glue to the deck, acting as a pirate for pulling patches, a beast for selective breeder and a dragon for those synergies, but it itself doesn't do much besides activating these synergies, and it's somewhat redundant compared to amalgam of the deep if not for being a very droppable minion no matter the board state. If I remove it, I can add another beast to the deck for selective breeder, or do something else entirely. Current options I see are: Scalerider, Circus amalgam, Netherspite Historian, Firetree Witchdoctor, Dragon Breeder, Scaleworm, or a single rustrot viper with another from the list.
Replays
I'm 7-7 with this version of the deck and I'm using it to get to D5 this month. I don't claim these are perfect games, just a couple of those 14 games to see it in action.
