Can a Mii from Miitomo be used on Wii U?

As titled, I'm curious if the Mii used on Miitomo can be used on the Wii U. The one I have on Miitomo looks so much better better and I'd love using that.
I generated a QR code and scanned it but my Wii U just pops up with "you cannot receive this Mii."
