Wii U Smash Bros Question

So I am trying to decide if I want to get a Wii U or a 3DS. Personally the selling point for me is on the upcoming Smash Bros game. I know the 3DS will support multiplayer with the new Smash Bros, but does anyone know if the Wii U Smash Bros will support 4 player local play like the Smash Bros games have in the past?
