I bought several used Wii games from my local game exchange, and most of them worked just fine. Since these were Christmas presents, I made sure to test each one (by loading it and getting just past title screen).
Of course, come Christmas morning, the games boot up fine, but after about 5 min or so of gameplay (can't determine if it's time spent playing, or changing levels/stages, etc.) I get the above message. A reboot will fix it temporarily, but the same thing occurs again.
I've inspected the discs, and while they do have minor scratches/wear & tear, I have discs that look way worse off that play fine.
The games this error is occurring on are: Mario Kat Wii & Sonic Rings
I think I have a first gen Wii (plays GameCube games, has the controller and memory slots), but I'll be happy to check if it helps.
Thanks in advance, I was so psyched about playing Mario Kart with the steering wheels with my 5 year old!
