Nunchuck issues with a used Wii remote with Wii motion plus

So I bought a used Wii remote with Wii motion plus to use with my Wii and the remote itself works fine for the most part but when I plug in the nunchuck it starts to have issues, sometimes even affecting the actual Wii remote, usually the cursor, but still. I never had an issue with it without the nunchuck plugged in yet, but I also don’t think it isn’t entirely the nunchuck since we used these several years ago and they work fine with the other Wii remotes.

I did also clean out the connector using a fresh toothbrush and isopropyl alcohol but it only helped for a moment.
