Stacking Wifi Antennas?

My idea would be to use 2 or 4 identical sector antennas in ONE Direction with a wilkinson power combiner. The purpose would be have more antenna gain. Would it be work? How about the distance between the antennas, do I have to pay attention?
Why I want this: I'm often on campgrounds with far away wifi and no visual contact. So this would be great to have more gain.
