Are these old razors ok for my first time? Also, how should I clean them?

I have some Gillette Rockets and an unopened pack of Wilkinson Sword Classic blades that used to belong to my uncle. He died around 12 - 15 years ago, so they are at least that old. Here's a picture: http://i.imgur.com/WHrVO.jpg

I have a few questions:

1. I currently shave with Mach 3 cartridges (but I recently ditched the canned goo for a brush and shave soap). Do you think the Rockets are ok for my first shave with a DE razor?

2. How should I clean them before my first use?

3. Do you think the blades are ok to use?
