Post Shave: The Sudsy Soapery - Rain - Balm
I'm a big fan of Rain/Petrichor scents, so as soon as I got the email about The Sudsy Soapery's Rain release, I knew I was picking it up. I've been impressed with their soaps in the past, but this was my first chance getting to use the balm and deodorant. The soap performed very well as expected. The post shave feel was very noticeable and fantastic. Great shave overall!
The balm has a somewhat thick consistency. Thicker than a lotion, but not as thick as something like Chatillon Lux's salves. Seems very moisturizing so far, albeit a little greasy. Definitely plan to keep this one in my balm rotation.
The deodorant seems to be largely coconut oil based. It's almost like a paste/gel that rubs in very easy. The description claims 24 hour protection but I haven't gotten that kind of longevity yet. Not sure if I'm not using enough or I'm stinkier than the average user, but may need to find an alternate solution.
As far as scent goes, Rain is what I imagine the love child of Dapper Dragon's Signature and Declaration Grooming's After the Rain would smell like, which is to say, amazing. I get a lot of the AtR type scent with hints of melon poking it's head in here and there.
Full Disclosure: It's not raining right now
