Hey guys! Some of you may remember me from a few days ago, asking about gear. Well, my Maggard Razors care package came in the mail! So as soon as I could, I opened it up, took a look, and got to it. But, it didn't quite go as planned. I'll start from the beginning.
To start, I opened my soaps to smell. They were quite nice. Next i put warm water on the soap to sit while I had a nice warm shower (I also put my synthetic brush in some warm water, I dont know if that was necessary though). I got out about 5-10 mins later, and rubbed my face with the soapy water (I forget what its called. Blum water?). Then I emptied the excess, and loaded my brush. I spent about 45-seconds to a minute, or until i was able to run my finger through and it stuck together nicely. I started with a hand lather, which looked okayish, and moved to my face. Lathering was a bit hard, and the first thing I noticed was the taste of the soap. The canned lathers always tasted nasty and I immediately wanted to spit them out. But this one, while not cookies and milk, didn't taste like satans anus. Anyway, I started to lather, but the brush bristles were a bit irritating on my skin, maybe I was doing something wrong though. It took a bit to get a nice lather on, but I felt like it wasn't nearly as 'soft' looking as the guys in videos. It did have a nice consistency when I smothed it out on my face with the brush though. My biggest issue however was with the razor. I just couldn't get the right angle I felt like. I tried everything from 20 degree to practically 75. It just didn't feel like it was doing anything. Nothing catching, nada. But then i figured it was just that sharp. Nope, it looked like it hadn't cut any hair. Even after an hour almost of shaving, I feel like i still have slight stubble. And I tried in some spots at least 50 times from every angle, and just couldn't get a little patch. Plus, I felt like I had to push the razor onto my face more than a cartridge. I started barely letting the weight of the razor hold it on my face, but nothing happened. I don't have any razor burn though, nor do I have any cuts. My face is smooth, save for a few spots where it refused to shave though. I took plenty of pictures, if you guys could tell me if I'm doing something wrong. I'm lost.
Album (Warning, NSFW-ish. Im shirtless, but wearing a towel around my waist)
Let me know how I did!
Edit: Turns out im an idiot.
