Any benefit of switching to shavette for DE user?

Post Body

I've been shaving with a DE razor for about a year now and am getting a very good shave, although I struggle a bit to get my neck as smooth as I would like (probably bad technique).

I was thinking about switching over to a straight razor (mostly for kicks) but am intimidated by the cost and the care of the razor (stropping, etc.). Due to this, I was thinking about switching to a shavette since it seems to have the benefits of a straight with the convenience of disposable blades.

Is the care of a straight razor difficult? Am I better off finding a cheaper straight (Whipped Dog Sight Unseen from FAQ) instead of using a shavette? What's the main difference in use between the two (aside from the disposable blades)? Which shaves better?

Thanks for your help!
