Most the people I see using whoop are already athletes. I'm wondering if anyone is using whoop and starting from the beginning? (i.e. Overweight (read fat) and coach potato? )
I drastically changed my life this year after basically not doing any exercise at all for like 2 years and no good diet behaviours. I used to be super fit and healthy weight (pre ACL and meniscus tear repair and then years of studying a super intense degree(s.))
I'm trying to see what extra detail I can get out of my whoop that may help me better plan/ tackle my weight loss and fitness journey? Also its quite hectic seeing all the athletes RHR/HRV and wondering where does the average person compare, and additionally, how are other people in my situation fairing. I guess I could also just start my own weight loss team so I'd have more people to compare info with?
A lot of my focus is also trying to improve my HRV and stress management. I have been diagnosed with Alopecia Areata (hair loss in patches)and read a medical journal that shows there could be a connection between hair loss and low HRV. (I've seen the doctor, there's no specific medical reason for it.) Additionally, I'm trying to manage my stress as it is supposedly a hair loss factor, but I have a high stress job. I imagine as I continue on my weightless and fitness journey these things will improve, but any additional guidance in improving any performance will be highly welcome.
I also have one more question- I find strain such works differently to how I imagine. Lets say my recommended strain for the day is 12, it seems like its not a cumulative approach, I cant do a cycle of 8 strain and then some weights for 4 strain as it wont reach 12, but rather the second workout will have to be like 7.2 in order to get the 12 for the day. Is it the duration that I need to extent in order to better plan my workouts?
