I am feeling very concerned about the record at this point. Our beloved team is getting deep towards the cellar this month. I like this subreddit, and I think most of us are. Optimism this early is great. However, catching up after a brutal April, it's hard for any team to catch up. It would be hard to argue against the truth.
Our manager has tried his best to really push a young team more. Bringing our organization forward to offer some momentum is going to be hard - even to a..500 record. Kenny Williams (who collects a paycheck, nothing more) isn't going to make a move unless something is drastic. When I say something drastic, I mean from team ownership.
Our team is playing a tough NYY team in the Bronx this weekend. Something needs to get the team motivated. If we get swept, something needs to move everyone's asses (JMHO). That could be our pitching coach as well.
So the question is, should we change our leadership on the field after a terrible road trip? A conventional and experienced manager? Unorthodox choices? A different view to help an unsteady pitching staff?
I'm not a season tix owner, but I would understand them re: frustration, as well as their investment. The team wants to win, and some of our players are performing, but it's just getting worse on all 25.
I'm not getting fire and brimstone, but I would like to know everyone's insight.
