Although this team has just been god awful in every way possible, it’s worth noting that the Sox have played many competitive games up until the 6th or 7th.

Even this year alone, we’ve all seen the bullpen stats regarding saves and games given up after the 7th.

With a competent bullpen we win half those games and with 3 more real bats in the lineup that number goes up even more.

Acquiring 3 bats in free agency is not going to be cheap but i think it’s necessary for 2-4 year contracts and if they click with the organization. Extend them.

By the end of that 2-4 year period, Sox prospects will be developed (starting pitching is going to be mean) and if 2 of those bats work out, go out and get some more and get one more elite starter. (The bullpen has been built for years at this point) and then boom we’re back to a division title.

There is no hope for next year…. Or the year after…. Or the year after… BUT the year after that we’re in
