That doesn’t necessarily mean our existence is more dangerous

Go back to stats 101. That is literally what that stat means. It's a core reason why women have much longer life expectancy across our species and across history than men.

The topic is that men should go out of their way to make women feel safer because of the narrative that women are terrified of being raped or assaulted by random men.

When the reality is that

A) most sexual assault experienced by women is perpetrated by people they are already in a relationship with

B) men experience violent crime at a 4x rate on average, and up to 10x depending on race (ie black men). And much more of that crime is random than any of what women experience.

meaning men are far far more likely to be assaulted by a random person on the street than women are.

Treat them like they're invisible.

When I do that, then they complain that I act like they don't exist because they are <insert aspect of themselves they are insecure about>

But if your decision to respect women’s equality with men

I think the point is that people are associating feminism with not equality, but with reverse Taliban mindsets.

Or put in other words, they are seeing outright misandry being presented as equality, and that's why they are dipping out.

And yeah, why would they be committed to it if that's how feminism is being wielded in their direct experience?
