My dad (whom I got him into whiskey) seems to be enjoying ryes more. I'd like to get him a nice bottle for Father's Day. His two favorite (ryes) currently are Bulleit and Redemption. I know he likes Angel's rye quite a bit, too. His other faves/usuals -- bourbon-wise -- are Knob Creek, Woodford, and EW Black.
These are all the ryes that I have on my list that I have been wanting to try, too, in case you have any input on any of these; please feel free to suggest anything else also! (in no specific order):
- Sagamore Double Oak
- Still630
- New Riff Malted
- Michters
- Redemption High
- JDSBBP
- Willet
- High West Double
- High West Rendezvous
- Rare Breed
- Knob
- Woodford
- Green River
- Pikesville
- Midwinter Nights
He isn't as much of an exploratory person as I am, so I am somewhat considering getting him a rye from a distillery he's already familiar with/a rye version of one of his usuals; such as Knob, Woodford, or WT101.
Thanks in advance!
edit: any high rye bourbons are acceptable, as well!
