As someone who lives in a big city, (Denver) I have come to the conclusion that my Norco Torrent is way to nice of a secondary bike to have around town. On 3 separate occasions I've had people yell at me "hey that's my bike" and get confrontational. I even had one guy walk up to me and ask if it was for sale. When I replied its not for sale he indicated if he stole it then it would be free.

The nerve of people is starting to get to me and has forced me to cary a weapon when I ride in my back pack.

Anyways I digress. I'm thinking of buying a more city type bike something preferably with drops and maybe the possibility of rack mounts.

I don't really have a budget in mind but I've been looking at a few of surly frames, but am also open to common older frames that you might find on Craigslist as either a complete bike etc.
