Hi there - I have two deals that I'm weighing and wondering which one makes the most sense. Deal #1 is a used 2020 defy advanced 1 that a rental bike shop would sell me for $2k. Deal #2 is a new 2019 defy advanced 2 for $2k. Both would be significantly cheaper than retail currently.
Caveats for both - for #1 obviously that it's a used bike, it won't come with a warranty (though it will be guaranteed by the bike shop, they're reputable and I'm confident there wouldn't be issues). Also I couldn't pick up the pick until October likely. That said, it's obviously a better "package" food around the same price (about $100 more total when all is said and done).
For #2, it comes with a lower groupset obviously and the giant conduct brakes. I'm not a super advanced rider anyway so shouldn't be a huge issue for me. Plus it comes with a warranty, so that's reassuring, and I can order it right away.
All that said, is the 2020 1 that much better and worth the wait over the 2019 2? Also, are the giant conduct brakes that much worse that regular hydraulics (other than the ugly converter)?
Thanks in advance!
