I am on book seven, so no spoilers please.
Sometimes I am not sure whether I am reading a point of view and am being reasonable or just having gender bias (I am male).
For example, when a male character says something about a female or females in general, I tend to agree. Then when a woman makes some comment about a man or men in general, I'm like "That is totally not true."
I also am constantly ticked off by the women in WOT, and how they act. They always come across as manipulative, arrogant, and generally just rude (not u Min, ily).
So I suppose part of my question is directed toward the women in the fandom: Do you read the women in the series in the same way I read the men? Am I the misogynist, or does the community get that general vibe from the characters?
I would love to know everyone's thoughts.
I've read the first 10 books 3 or 4 times but never finished the series. Probably the biggest reason for that is I get annoyed reading how the women think the men are arrogant and pushy and the men think the women are manipulative and secretive.
I get that the point is that men and women are stronger together but the gender depictions are too much for me. Half of the series could be cut out if Rand and the rest just communicated instead of assuming.
