Slipping wheels.

So I'm in a wheelchair for the next couple months due to a bad car accident. Insurance provided the wheelchair. The problem I'm having is I have carpet in the bedrooms and main hallway of my house and the wheels on this thing are perfectly smooth fairly hard rubber. So sometimes one will just spin. Especially spots that the carpet is more worn and packed down. Anyone have tips or hacks to fix this? Debating having my brother cut some notches in the rubber itself just so it has some minimal tread
