Sold comps are all over the place for the barely similar pieces I can find.

Info I know Unknown artist. Canadian Indigenous Inuit Certified(or however it's referred to by those that are familiar) It has a chip out of the bottom right corner, shown in pics. It's carved from soapstone It's a sea lion

I just straight up don't have the artistic eye to determine where this piece falls in the $50-$1000 range I'm finding solds at. I can't find the artist, but short of like 2 known artists, a lot of the other solds on the mid to high end were unknowns. Some more appealing pieces were on the lower end and uglier, more primitive looking stuff on the higher end. But also, vice versa.

I think this might be one of those instances of "it's just gonna be worth what someone's willing to pay". I've already decided to set it for auction, I'm not looking for pricing advice as much as learning about how folks came to whatever opinion they came to on THEIR valuation.
