it's very light and most of the surface is covered with little pores, although there are smooth areas.I found it near Paint Branch in the Anacostia watershed in Montgomery County, Maryland. It was about 10 meters from a small stream. It's about 55 mm long and only weighs 42 grams.
I've never seen anything like it before around here. Could it be pumice?
