Album of said rock

I have some property in Washington county Missouri which puts it right on the edge of the Ozarks. There are about 40 acres of hills that are made of mostly this type of formation or just bigger chunks of the small crystals. The neighbors on the same ridge are mostly the same. I've been told they are skolithos but the IDer wasn't very confidant. Also, if they are trace fossils, what activity would have allowed the tiny crystal deposits to occur around the tubes?
