Word or phrase that is more or less synonymous with escapism

This is driving me nuts. I’m about 90% sure there is a common word or phrase for escaping into a fantasy world / avoiding reality, as you would when reading a book or playing a role-playing game or anything like that.
Unfortunately I can’t remember part of speech or even if it is a single word versus a short phrase. The closest synonym I could think of was “escapism” as in the title, but the actual connotation might be slightly different.
Anybody know what I’m trying to think of here???
