I've been searching for this movie for ages and a friend suggested this sub so I thought I'd give it a go. I think I watched it when before 2008 but I remembered even then the movie seemed old. The plot was a robot uprising masterminded by some genius old dude so they send a team in to take him out and end the war. When they finally find his dead body in a chair (and a giant holographic head of him saying his goodbyes and stuff) they realise they robots have been fulfillings his last requests. I'm really sorry that I can't remember more about it. Pretty sure it was an American film aswell. I'm hoping the unusual twist will help someone to recognise it.
