Help me find alien movie/show

Hello all!

I'm trying to find a movie or show about aliens. The only seen I remember was there was an important meeting with a large table, possibly military/government?

The meeting was about aliens and suddenly one of the people in the meetings, a woman if I recall, was mind controlled by an alien and warned them to not start a fight with them I think. Then they presented the people in the the meeting with new technology that would change the world.

I wanna say it was set in the 50s-60s and that's why the new tech would be so helpful.
