So I'm looking for a short story, pretty sure it's by a famous Russian author. The gist of the story is a hunter is in the middle of a cold evening and sees a light. The light is coming from a cabin where a woman and her daughter live. It is close to some Christian holiday, so they share a biblical story. The mother and daughter begin to cry toward the end of the story. The hunter leaves and at first is perplexed but then he suddenly has a revelation of the true unbroken connection they feel to these biblical characters. That they understand at a core level, that they are literally tied to these biblical figures.
