I feel like I have asked this before...

So the gist of the story is...
I think "the big rip" is coming. Or some other "end of the entire universe" event. The story follows a young woman scientist. What really stood out to me was the ending. This woman decides she wants to spend her last moments with her mother. And then something about a bunch of intercepted messages from all over the galaxy. The girl didn't know what they meant. The mother said she did...they were all saying goodbye.

Any ideas?!!? Thanks in advance!
